Photography - It's Different For Everyone
So many people ask me what I think makes a good picture. Of course, I could give the stock answer that, "It depends on what you are talking about." routine, but I won't. I feel that what truly makes a great picture is the ability for the photographer to capture exactly what he/she is looking at while adding his/her own personality into the picture. That said, just about anything could make a good picture, providing the photographer has an understanding of the subject.
I pride myself on being able to say that if you see one of my portraits, you are not only looking at the picture of a person, but you are actually seeing the person in the picture. I have a certain knack for capturing people's inner thoughts – and I find it fascinating. Often my subject will say, "I don't think that looks anything like me!" while everyone else in the room is saying, "What are you talking about? That looks JUST like you." I find that we look at ourselves differently than how other people see us. Sometimes, that is hard to see. But as the old saying goes, One man's garbage is another man's gold. The re-design of this site has allowed me to be able to pick and choose the photos I want to show in a way I feel best showcases my talents. For a while there, I had just about everything in the world posted on this site. That didn't work. I have narrowed it down to three categories: People / Places / Flora & Fauna. Take a look at each gallery. There are several different ideas for each. It should give you a broad idea of the kind of work that I do.
As far as photographic work, I am always glad to take out the camera. If you think you might like to have me shoot something, drop me a line and I will get back to you. I am always looking for new and interesting models.
